DJ
DJ
Born and raised in Western New York, Nine-Ten Builders; LLC owner, DJ Tosh, started the company in 2006.
After first pursuing a career in education, DJ realized that his love for being outdoors and working with his hands
was leading him down a different path. From the free estimates he provides for his customers, throughout
every phase of a project to its completion, DJ is a presence on the jobsite, often times rolling up his sleeves
and doing the work himself. It was recently said of DJ that “He has two speeds; fast and faster!” His work ethic
and commitment to excellence speak for themselves on the customer testimonial page!
Adam
Adam
Adam is our “go to” guy! He has a broad skill set and is a huge asset to our team. Adam was enrolled in
the Carpentry program at BOCES during high school. He pursued a degree in Art Education receiving a
Bachelors degree in 1998. However, he has spent 8 of the last 12 years working in the trade of fine wood working
and furniture making. That background has equipped Adam to be a skilled craftsmen. When it is time for the
finish work, Adam is the man!
Don
Retired 5th grade teacher Don, is also DJ’s dad! He and Donna have been involved in the
horse industry throughout their married life and currently raise and show American Quarter Horses.
“It seemed like we were always building something on the family farm, so when I retired and was looking
for a way to fill my days, becoming part of the Nine-Ten crew was a natural transition for me. It is great
to be able to volunteer my time and work alongside my son. He has taught me a lot!”
Donna
Donna
Retired teacher assistant Donna, is also DJ’s mom! The organizational skills that equipped her to be
effective in the school setting are now being put to use in the Nine-Ten office.
“My dad’s family immigrated from Italy in the early 1900’s. He became a master carpenter by trade,
and remained so all his life, always helping us with our own building projects after he retired. When DJ
was very young we bought him a Fischer Price Work Bench, and the first time I watched grandpa help
him pound the pegs into the top of that bench, I saw the writing on the wall. My dad would be so happy
to see his legacy of skilled carpentry, combined with character, being lived out through his grandson!”
Bailey & Bruno
Jack Russel Terrier, Bailey, and her sidekick, Bruno, an English Mastiff, can usually be found guarding the office, or riding shotgun with DJ.
